Jeff,

I'm very happy I could help. I know the thrill you feel when you find that "long lost relative" . Now the fun starts !! Keep digging !! You'll be amazed at how much information may be out there on "your man's outfit" . Every once in a while you really luck out and find a personal letter that may mention something about your ancestor. In all the years I've been chasing my ancestors ( thank God , they're not moving!!) , I have found only one such incident. It was an eye witness account of my GGUncle being shot and killed at the battle of Val Verde , NM. It's not that I'm real happy that he was killed in his first battle; but it is truly a rare situation when you can find out just exactly when , where and how something happened to your ancestor. I know in my case , the actual events of my ancestor's death were completely different than the story that had been handed down through the generations .
Once again, thanks for the kind words. It really makes my day when I can help someone like yourself find a link to their family's past. Good Hunting !! Craig
