No problem. Actually, I should have known that you were referring to the other Walker. I am still trying to solve the mystery of the 14th and how it got seperated from its intended brigade [Johnson's], and crossed the river by itself. The rest of the brigade was originally planned to join Van Dorn as well, but of course was retained in Arkansas. How did the 14th miss out on being kept behind? Did it arrive in Arkansas sooner than the other units, but after Van Dorn's army had already crossed? Many thanks for all of your responses on this board.
