I certainly don't profess to be any expert on the KEITH family. In fact, I only have information on my immediate KEITH family in the Titus County area, but I'll be glad to help you where possible. There were actually two separate KEITH families that settled there. My knowledge is that of the family of Alexander KEITH, born abt. 1750, married to Margaret HARNED. Their son William KEITH, born 1783, married to Elizabeth STURM, moved to Titus County with sons William B. and John Henton, and others.

One interesting note is that Wm. D. KEITH's father, John Henton KEITH, lost a leg due to a mini-ball in the thigh at the Battle of San Jacinto during the Texas Revolution, as verified on his service and pension records. However, he is not "officially" listed as one of the wounded. Prior to the Battle of San Jacinto he participated in the Battle of San Antonio (Bexar), and was one of the two men who removed the body of Ben Milam after he was killed by a mini-ball to the head.
