"History of Pennsylvania Volunteers 1861-65" indicate Leonidas A. Ruth enlisted on 9-19-62 as a private in the PA 40th Infantry, Company A. It also states he died on 11-6-62 at Belle Plain, VA. No mention of a hospital or cause of death. The pension form would have been completed by a family member, and this may be the reason for the discrepancy in giving the location as Brook's Station.
