If that is Grand Junction, TN, 1862 would make more sense, beings from what I have been seeing on the www, Grand Junction, TN in 1863, I think?, was under Union control.

Not sure about 1862 though. I had many kinfolks, in the Battle of Shiloh, DEARs, BRINSONs, GRANTHAMs, etc, out of the Mississippi 6th and 39th but didn't research the battle like I should have having that many kin in it.

On Art's mention of the Deakles in the 21st and being from the SW Alabama Deakles, John Deakle, the only one in my family file was just the father of a girl who married a distant cousin of mine and John Deakle wasn't in the CSA so I won't go into much digging on the Deakles.

For some reason, it snuck up on me, took an interest in this T J Baker kid and finding out what I can after seeing people, family researchers, mentioning on the www that he might have died in the war.
After 150 years, it might be a good time, and easy enough to do, to look into and try to come up with something better than "he might have".

Now assuming he died at Grand Junction, TN, (not Colorado) would he have been buried up there, and where up there, what cemetery? Or would his remains have been brought back home to St Elmo, 400 miles? Will any of that kind of info be in his CSR? Anybody have any thoughts on that?
Will I need to go over and bug the Tennessee message board now?
