You can't really blame the property owner for denying access. I just hope the site is well cared for and not a dumping ground or destroyed like so many abandoned cemeteries. This story reminds me of what I've heard about Cadron Settlement park in Faulkner county. An older guy told me that while there was some historical spots at the park the real settlement was where the Cadron creek flows into the Arkansas. He and his wife had been there several times and he said you could still see building foundations and the remains of streets and roads. The land-owner keeps this property strictly off-limits to all but a few.
