I'am also not completely convinced by Buckner's 1909 claim
of designing the "Hardee" pattern battleflag.
However, the Nashville Banner article is the only such claim that I have been able to uncover.
I'am not familiar with "MacGuire's History of the Irish".
Can you give me a complete title for this source as to enable me to find it?
Is the relevant citation short enough to be posted here?
