One other Pensacola native you may not be aware of is Colonel Gonzalez, who died in the fighting at LaGrange, Georgia in April, 1865 (along with Gen. Tyler). I have been looking for information on Maj (or Lt. Col.) Jon Pons from Pensacola. (I know there was a black activist by the same name in Pensacola - but I need info on the Confederate officer).
