Seeing that John Brewer is my gg grandfather, I guess that makes us cousins? Ill let you figure out to what degree. HA. William Snow is my great grandfather...David Brewer my grandfather.
Not sure about John being buried in the Brewer/Boudinot cemetery. From what i've learned it was moved in 1942 to Grennleaf Cemetry in Tahlequah when Gruber was formed. They mention Thomas Fox Brewers grave along with 5 other graves within a 50 foot square native stone wall. There were 25 graves outside the stone enclosure...only Thomas Fox being a Brewer. John founded the place around 1840, then later sold it to a man named Dambach, who eventully sold it to William Penn Boudinot.
According to the 1880 Cherokee census they list a John C Brewer age 71 in the Canidian district....which puts him with or near OHP Brewer in Webber Falls area. But then looking at the records for what is refered as the Brewer cemetry on the home place of OHP Brewer, near Brewers bend, John isn't listed there either. Where did he go?

Another subject. The West-Brewer connection. Salli (or Sarah) Belle West was my grandmother. Her father and mother were Benjamin Franklin West (abt 1836-1909) and Sarah Johnson) West (abt 1843 - ?. Benjamin was born in Nother Carolina and Sarah was born in Tenn. In 1880 they lived in Paint Rock, Marshall, Alabama. Their childern were Frank, David Benjamin, James Richard and Sallie(Sarah)Belle. They came to Idian territory in the 1890's...settling in and around Wagoner-Okay area. So Sallie Belle west married David (Brown) Brewer. David B. Brewers aunt, Nancy Ellen Brewer married Franklin Pierce West. Do you think there is any blod-line between the two West? I know Frankiln was Cherokee...but Sallie's family was never listed as Cherokee? I can send you a picture of William Snow Brewer.....my e-mail is john.watson@cnent.com.
