Ken,

I haven't been able to connect the two West's family either. Other than the marraige of Nancy Brewer to Frank West. I had the plaesure of meeting your cousin Karen. I have an intersting story about the Pistol. One time when i was around 8-9 years old an elderly gentleman came to see my grandmother Salli Brewer. He was introduced to me as granny's cousin from Briartown. That was the first time i heard the story of Fank west killing Sam Starr. This man was Franks son....and he said he had the pistol. So that is why I always thought there was some connection of the tow West families. Of course, recently I've learned about the marriage of Nancy to Frank. Karen said she'd let me see and hold the pistol one day. it's part of Oklahoma (IT) history for sure.
The other confusing thing that granny told was that she was not allowed to go to her mother and fathers house after she married Daivd Brewer for over a year. The claim was because he was an indian? Not sure if that was the case or not.....I was too young to ask my granny when i heard that story and not as interested in family history growing up as I am now.
I only learned of the Brewer, Taylor, West history these last few years. O what I'd give to be able to go back and ask questions.

Ken, you don't know how muuc I appreciate what information you can provide. Hopfully we can meet sometime.
