Re: CO. A 5th Kentucky @ Perryville

Compliments Sir,

I have no doubt of your information and it being correct.
I have in my hand as of this moment the mustering in documents of my relative : John Barker, (1st), Company D, 5th Regiment/Mounted, Kentucky Inf. PACS (Provisional Army of Confederate States).
Nov.18/1861. Capt. Leondas H. Elliott's Company. Lawrence County KY.

I guess my question is / or was , I know very little of the Orphan Brigade other than it was a fine fighting Unit.
I thought the question originally was the idea of Mounted units or lack of. Yes, there were KY. MTD units early in the war.

As far as Perryville and such, I have little interest other than family being from the area.
I do Sir thank you for your return comments and will record and take them under advisement.
