Re: Kentucky Mounted Rifles/Mounted Infantry

Mssr. Pitts, Compliments (once again),

You are completely correct as I peruse the records in hand sir. And again you are correct as to POW status as I have those also. Camp chase is mentioned in one set and Camp Morton is mentioned in another, where he spoke of in letters home.
Thanx for setting me straight, I now have a better understanding of said documents.
After his final capture, near central KY, I want to say Three Oaks, but I may be wrong. He was released "By Order of the President" and took his oath in March of 1865.
I have very little knowledge of him after that until his death and burial at Pee-Wee Valley KY. He lived at the old Confederates home there for a while.
Although the Home is gone the Cemetery is still kept up and a fine place to rest.
Once again I thank you for the education on official records and there meaning.
I still think he was "Hell on Horseback" - EH!
Merry X - Mas.
