Col. B. Frank Gordon, 5th MO Cav CSA

I am currently working on two private, unpublished letters and one note written in the heat of battle from Col. Frank Gordon, commanding 5th MO CSA, all written May - Aug. of 1863. Can anyone please tell me if there were any skirmish or scout to Glaze, MO. either on or around May 29 through first week in June?
Is there a biography, soldier's memoir, or other good resource where I can find out more on Col. Gordon? From what I have found so far, he was an excellent officer, but there is little written about his personal life. I found his genealogy, but no details. I am especially interested in his time around Batesville, AR. Thanks for any help.
