Tom - I am familiar with your work and am very aware of the thorough job you do. When I researched my book I found many soldiers
who were not reported as wounded who write home "don't worry about me I was only scratched" OR cases where men are captured (not listed as wounded) but who tell of being "stunned" or "slightly wounded". When I sorted through all the records CSR / diaries / letters home / pension papers I found that it was often possible to match numbers with the company reports (by number at start of battle and end of battle)... You can imagine the task of doing 23 regiments of Pettigrew - Trimble. I look forward to cooperation in the future on these tasks. Don Ernsberger
