In the technical sense, he was a soldier doing what he did best. To those in his path and who suffered the loss of home and life, he was a terrorist. I can't think of many who remembered him fondly. Maybe HE wasn't, but there were those who rode with him that brought back memories to the Southern people of Tarleton.
