I just re-read the pages I cited as a reference in Catton's "Grant Moves South". Although the term was applied to the speculators, it is apparent that the Jewish speculators were the principle target. So to an extent even Catton agrees that there was a certain level of anti-Semitism prevalent in the Department Grant commanded and thay he issued orders which could only be considered anti-Semitic. I agree, I try very hard not to go around tweaking God's nose. I commit my fair of sins and ask for forgiveness each day, but I don't look for ways to antagonize the Big Guy. So all that to say, I am referencing a work that was Pro-Grant and agrees with the statements in the thread. I am not expressing my opinion. Just providing the documentation. John
