It is in practicality probably a Utpoian dream that mankind, even in these United States, will never achieve. The striving to reach that Utopian idea has always been an imperfect process. And what would be Utopia for one person would be Hell for another.

Where do we stand went one segiment of people are castigated, for something that was not their creation? Nor were they even acting outside of the legal limits of the public laws of the times. Something that even 150 years later we were still struggling with as a nation. Segration and Jim Crowe, for example, was practised in all its forms in New York, city, and Boston, as it was in Richmond, Virginia. And even at that, had it not been for the political need of the progressive northern Democrats to destroy the conservative southern Dixiecrats faction in their own party, desegration would never have happened as it did.
The driving force in politics for advancing the "civil liberties" of any people in the history of mankind, even in this country has always been, and still is, to gain a "political advantage", not to establish a "moral justice", or correct a "moral injustice". That is just the reality of history.
And that is the reality of the American Civil War. Nobody except the Quaker Church cared one bit about the welfare of the American slaves. That argument that anyone was genuinely concerned is a kindergarden viewpoint in a college level study of history. The political reality behind the issue of "freeing the slaves" and "desegration" was to gain a political advantage over a section of people in order to secure political powers that were not included in the Constitution and were not practised before that time, and which we still practise as our form of government today.
