Greg, My 3rd great grandma's brother Rufus S. (Sam?) Knight of Humphreys Co., TN served in the 50th from Dec. 11, 1861 until paroled at Greensboro, NC May 1, 1865. He was a private and corporal in Co. K, later Co. G of the 50th Consolidated, then in Co. I of the 2nd Consolidated. He was born about 1835 in the White Oak Creek area of Humphreys County, TN. He was the son of Joshua Y. Knight and Lucretia Wildredge and was a farmer. After parole I can find no record of him. I don't know if he returned home or what. He was not married as of the 1860 census. While in the 50th, he avoided capture at Ft. Donelson due to being furloughed for sickness. He was wounded in summer of 1863 and spent a few months hospitalized and on furlough. In spring 1864 he was hospitalized due to sickness at Newnan, Georgia. This is all that I know about him, any new info would be greatly appreciated! His sister, my 3rd great grandma was Margaret Ann Knight Jones. Her husband, my 3rd gr gf William "Willie" S. Jones was a private in the 11th Tennessee Infantry. Willie died at Cumberland Gap in November 1861 due to "disease of the lungs". Dave in Michigan "deo vindice!"
