Camp Nelson was the camp for Maj. Gen. John George Walker's Texas Division, however, the 10th Texas Cavalry was not in Walkers's Texas Division. The 10th Texas Cavalry was consolidated with the 14th Texas Cavalry, and was and was sent to Richmond Kentucky and Ectors Brigade at the battleof Murphreesboro,TN.
