Jerry: You have identified a lot of your civil war ancestors, I see. How neat! I still have a ways to go. I just finished following the military lines of my Ingram and Whitaker lines from Cherokee County and surrounding counties (Thomas' Legion). Terrible area to be from at that time, due to the hard feelings between the two factions, and there was a terrible amount of bushwhacking between them. Awful stuff that went on, but I have also read some stories that had some humor to them, which was a welcome relief from all of the tragedy both sides experienced. I am curious if your Coffee line is the same Coffee family that married into some of the southern Clevelands. Who knows, we could even be distant relatives. It has turned out that way for me on several occasions..thank you for the response. That kind of information is always good, because of the possibility of others who read the board connecting. Sometimes one doesn't connect right at the time they see information, but it sits back there on the back burner of our simmering little genealogical brains, and sometimes - Voila' - we remember where we saw it when it connects somewhere down the pike.. Thanks again.
