Oliver first enlisted on 11/14/1861 with the 4th Batt. Miss. Cav., Co. B. This later became Co. D of the 8th Conf. Cav. He was captured 3/13/1862 near Purdy, Tenn.

On 5/23/1863 he is listed on the roll for the "second" Pickens Greys. He is not own the prisoner list for Vicksburg.

By 4/3/1864, he was in the 42nd Ala. Inf., Co. B.

William P. also first enlisted with the 4th Batt. Miss. Cav., Co. B. He enlisted for 1 year on 3/4/1862.

By the fall of Vicksburg (7/4/1863), he was with the 42nd Ala. Inf. as he is found on the prisoner records for Vicksburg. At Resaca, in May 1864, he was shot in the left thigh. He was captured there, and held at Camp Douglas until 3/14/1865, when he was released to a Confederate hospital in Richmond.

All of the Buntins in the 42nd Ala. Inf. are in Company B. No record of any in Company D.

David B. was listed as missing at Corinth (Oct. 1862), but is later found on the prisoner roll from the fall of Vicksburg. No later record of his service.

James W. was captured 10/14/1862 at Corinth and was soon paroled. He shows up in the 37th Ala. Inf., Co. G at the end of the war. This regiment had been consolidated with the 42nd and other regiments.

T.C. was also captured at Corinth and soon paroled (10/31/1862). He is found at the end of the war as a Corpl. in the 37th, Co. G.
