No, it would not be fair to assume that the ~Bushwhackers~ were of English or Scotch/Irish descent vs German Americans who fought all or almost all on the Union side. There were many German Americans who rode with Quantrill and Anderson. Many of those families were ~here~ is the early 1700's.
