Its good to get different historical perspectives. My impression was that Capt. Lyons was a quick thing hero who kept Mo in the Union. Apparently there are different interpretations of events after they occur. History is written by the winners none the less even many CSA officers were less then thrilled with the Partisan Rangers while they stayed the winter in Sherman, Tx. After the Lawerence massacre could the Union Army be expected to just say to the perpertators "thats ok forgive us for our past transgressions?
