My ancestor was Ludwell Letcher "Letch" Lee. Letch was a private in Company A serving under Captain A.P. Pifer. Letch enlisted on 11 October 1862 in Winchester, Va. He served throughout the war and was paroled at Appomattox on April 9, 1865. He returned to his home in Loudoun County, later moving over the mountain to Clarke County. He worked as a farmer and a shoemaker. He died August 29, 1905 and is buried in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Upperville, Virginia.
