Re:reply to Doyle regarding saving the cemetery

Are you sure that is the way it is?
I thought cemeteries were sort of like private property and a person needed to leave them alone.
Well, this may be off the Civil War, but it appears to me that it is time we banded together and got something in the law books that says it is a punishable crime to destroy cemeteries.
I am serious about this too.
Notice I said punishable, not community service hours or a slap on the wrist because you are a "first" time offender. My thoughts are if you did it once-you will do it again.
Old cemeteries like you spoke of at Pine Bluff and old ones like I spoke of dating back to Civil War times and before are treaures of history, our history that need to be saved and maintained. We must save our heritage!!
I am proud to be an American but I am just as proud to be Southern born and a descendant of Confederates. We cannot let who we are be destroyed by someone whose parents forget to teach that person to have respect for others.
Does anyone else feel the same? If you do, feel free to write our governor and contact your local state senator, etc. I plan to start in the morning.
I have been known to stir things up in the past and I have no problem doing it again. If you feel inclined, please do voice your opinion. If I have jumped off and am heading for a hard fall, please tell me how to properly voice my unhappiness with the sitautions we are speaking of.
Thanks-
Linda
