Re:reply to Doyle regarding saving the cemetery

Sure. The property I purchased was the site of the Cemetery for the Confederate hospital at Camp White Sulphur Springs from July 1862 until September 1863.

From our research we know that men of the 19th (Dawson's), 24th, 27th, 33rd, and 37th Arkansas Infantries Hart's Battery of Arkansas Artillery, and Monroe's 6th Arkansas Cavalry were buried there.

Also men from Col R.R. Garland's Texas Brigade the 6th Texas Infantry, 24th and 25th Texas Cavalry dismounted.

It is probable that some men from Daniel Frost's Missouri Infantry Brigade, Mitchell's 8th and Clark's 9th Missouri infantries are buried there. And possible some of the men from M.M. Parson Missouri Infantry Brigade, and Parson Texas Cavalry brigade, the 12th and 21st Texas Cavalry.

Another sidebar is that it seems that a number of wounded soldiers from Shiloh, the Corinth, Miss. Hospital and even as far away as Lee's Army in Virginia, like from the 5th Louisiana Infantry, may have been transferred through this hospital on their way home to states in the Trans Mississippi.

In Truth we may never know everything what went on at this location and who is buried there.
