It was my understanding that the Union men had no trouble getting pensions. I could not say about the Union widows after the war. If you have not checked, you may wish to.
I know that one of my gg grandmother Pearce filed for a pension in say 1915 and there is a history in there telling of her husband's serivce
with the 8th Arkansas CSA.
I did find where my ggg grandmother Price got a one time payment of $25 in 1897, for the service of her husband who died as a CSA POW in
Little Rock.
I think the pensions got better with time.
