Can you point me to info regarding what was received from Pike? Pike had a number of cannon but little or no ammo and no means to move them. I'm sure you are aware of Pike's endless complaints of Hindman and Holmes intercepting arms etc that were purchased with Indian money or out of Pike's own pocket for the Indian Troops. The complaints continued when Steele took command in Jan 63. I'm sympathetic to Pike's complaints but the military necessity was to "save" Arkansas by all means.
