Yes that is true, until I can get my hands on the Smith book to recheck his sources I can't say that they didn't. That is why I would love for someone to prove they did with primary source material. Most of my proof is circumstantial at best unless I can find Mr Smith's info. There are always exceptions to the rule, but I know how Infantry companies organized. If this was that 1% that did something strange then it shoots down my claim. I too think someone would have mentioned the cannons as well if they had them with them because you would have to have the battery personel and horses.
