Question no. 2, much of northern AR. and southern, especially S/W Mo. were deserted by war's end. By all accounts many of those did not return... soldiers killed, families simply choosing to remain where they were... with courthouses burned and records destroyed, how did those who chose to live in Arkansas straighten out the property records?
