It seems to me that this alternate view of the Civil war is getting worst instead of more truthful. While watching the history channels new and improved versions of the Gettysburg battle I simply came unhinged. The Confederate soliers were depicted as hellish demons and the Rebel yell was shown as a trilling of the tongue that sounded like something from a Tailiban jihadist. My GGgrandfather was severly wounded at Chickamauga while serving with Co. K 25th Ark. The pain and disability from this wound plaged him the rest of his life. These people lost the war but the way the U.S. gov. treated them and the South after the war is truely a shame. As has been said the South didn't start recovering until the 1960s. It seems the least that they could do is tell the truth about the war and the years after instead of trying to destroy our ancesters memories and belittleing their sacrifices.
