I agree.
My ancestor Sgt. J. D. Pearce of the 8th Arkansas CSA, who was shot at Shiloh and returned to fight again and again and again.
I honestly understand the mental process that no matter what, he was there until the end.
One of 78 who survived and came home.
Shot to hell and they still fought, buried their kin, and they still fought, starved and hungry and they still fought.
An amazing man having descended from the people on Mayflower right on up to having a great grandson who worked on the space shuttle. Certainly, dedication to the cause...
