The 29th Georgia Batt'n saw action against Kilpatrick in Liberty County, GA about the time Sherman entered Savannah. They were stationed at or near Augusta, GA on March 12, 1865, and their strength was listed as 300 by Gen. B. D. Fry. Their assignment was to help scout in the direction of Savannah in order to Protect Agusta if Sherman was to head in their direction.
