From Felix Poche's Diary:
In Response To: Re: 2nd La. Cavalry ()

Says after the battles of Mansfield/P Hill, Colonel Vincent was placed in command of a "brigade" consisting of his own, the 2nd, and the 4th (7th) regiments.

On April 19 (1864) Poche splits off with Bush's cavalry as Vincent heads to conduct operations close to Baton Rouge.

I believe Vincent and Bush spent most of their time chasing down small groups of Jayhawkers.

Poche himself rejoined the main body of Taylor's army for the fights at Mansura and Yellow Bayou, but he makes no mention of Vincent's cavalry being present. They were probably still off on detached duty below Baton Rouge.

I will skim Poche's diary for more mentions of the 2nd, but after the retreat of the federals from Red River, there was very little action in Louisiana the rest of the war.
