At the time of Banks' invasion, Walker also had a "squadron" of cavalry commanded by Capt. Alsdorf Faulkner that was attached to or working with the 2nd Louisiana. Walker had increased the strength of this unit by detailing soldiers from his infantry regiments. I found ten soldiers and one lieutenant detailed from the 13th Texas Cavalry (dism). One of these soldiers was captured at Henderson Hill. Faulkner's cavalry had been attached to the division HQ by Brig. Gen. Henry E. McCulloch in October 1862. It was originally Company G of the 15th Texas Cavalry.
