Newbie so sorry if I have problems here. I am trying to find the last piece to my Family History. My Great Grandfather Sidney Ira Taylor was born in Mississippi. I don't know where. I know a lot about him accept his family. How many? Where did they live? I went from Ill to Miss to College because my Mom wanted our whole family to be close to her family. Seems so sad to not know more about him. I do know he died in 1871 in Shreveport, LA. The story goes he and his wife died within two days of each other from Malaria he got from while serving in the Civil War. Just to be able to say for sure he was in the Civil War would be something. I am currently on Ancestry.com and will be until the end of May. They sent me to 3fold to read his Civil War record. I have it or the one they sent me to but I am doubting it is him after doing more research. They had him listed under S. Taylor from Itawamba, County. I found a great website about this city but found a man named Swepson and he and his son near the same age as Sidney went by S. Taylor. No brother. Darn. I thought I had it.
