Linda, a good friend of mine suggested I do the same thing. I will consider it. Actually, I had someone from the Church of the Latter Day Saints send me on Ancestry. She too has not been able to help and is married to a Taylor who she was hoping might link up with my family. Close call. Almost. I was just at the New Orleans Orpahage site and my Mom once again was right. The records for 1871 and 1872 are missing. Doubt that they would have helped. Also, people from the Church of the Latter Day Saints visited my mother. One was a distant relative. She told them what she knew. That was mid 1990's. So, you may be onto something there. I can't believe with the Civil Records on Ira I got how similar they were to the Swepson Taylor Family. Once again I can place my Great Grandfather into a family but find no records to prove he belongs there. This one the couple had their first child listed on the census in 1850 when they were 22 and 24 they would have had their first child. If they were Sidney's parents he would have been born when they were 20 and 22. You may ask what about why he would not be on the 1850 and I would answer he was in school. There is a Sidney Taylor listed on an 1850 census. The School is between these two counties in Mississippi but he says he was born in Ala and off a couple of years. Still in my mind I have to see him with a family. I will check out the 1840 Mississippi census but I know it only shows head of household but still may help. Thanks again, Clarissa
