Gary, thank you for such an uplifting and positive message! I'm using the info from Ira S. Taylor for now to see where it goes. Spent a lot of time today and getting ready to spend more. Yazoo City is where he signed up and I know from the research I did on S. Taylor that several counties contributed to that regiment. This time I can't find a list of counties but I do have a Mississippi census for 1864 that puts him in Lowndes County which is middle part on the East side. A little ways from Yazoo but worth considering as it is right below where S. Taylor's group was and I looked into all of those Taylor families. Thanks for your uplifting message.
