"I was referring to those Southerners who pretend to be personally affected by an event which took place more than a century before they were born"

Matt, I haven't posted lately, I have been sicka,d I still am. I would like to say I have read most of the last two threads on this board and I disagree with most everything you have posted. you simply just jump aroundand dodge the point. That being said as soon as I feel like posting agin I will attempt to address your tresponses.

No you think that the WBTS doesn't have any bearing on the people of today? becasue I feel terrible and I just don't feel like spending a bunch of online time, let me just give a couple examples. Keep in mind I am from very rural Mississippi.

1. Mississippi was the richest state in the union in 1860. Look where we are at today.

2. My ancestors were landowners before the WBTS, not slaveowners mind you. My ggg- grandfather was killed at the battle of Chickamuaga. Family loses everything. You cannot see how this has any bearing on my life? Think real hard about how this loss may have affected my grandparents and ultimely me down the line.

Couple more things,

Cigarette tax, seat belt law, 55mph spead limit. Rebuilding after Katrina.
