Good post Penny. Whatever is illegal is bound to happen, just may carry a stiff penelty for getting caught.
I too remember the Roe vs Wade decision. I was very comfortable with it. It's like religion and politics though, you're not going to change anyones mind on the subject. Women have to take the bull by the horns at times for their own protection. Never gonna explain that to a man. Slavery is another issue and should not be lumped in with the other in my opinion but not anothers opinion.
A couple of seasons ago there was a program on tv I happened to enjoy. American Dreams. While it could get sappy, I could relate to most of it. They had quite a story line on the segregation issue and it took place at the time the Civil Rights movement was starting to have a full head of steam. The program was supposed to take place in Philidelphia. Not the South but the attitude was just what I saw at that same time in the South.
My GGGrandfather had a couple of brothers who were pretty well known for their fine 'jug' product. One went to jail for it when the still was discovered. They figured they had a right to make a living anyway they could because they were bitter about what they lost in the war. Legal or not, there were a lot of people who agreed with them and bought the stuff.
