I know all this, Mary Todd Lincoln had problems with "paid" servants as she couldn't bully them around as she could her slaves.
Now as far as Lincoln's family having slaves I have never seen any tangible evidence to reinforce this. From what I have read, his father was too poor to have slaves,,,
