Re: Lincoln
In Response To: Lincoln ()

Friend Stephen:

Do you agree? Was slavery morally wrong. Not just in the context of 21st century thought. But was it wrong. I believe morals are absololute and unchanging. Morals of the 19th century are just as relevent in the 21st century. To argue otherwise, is to take Biblical teachings from the time of Jesus and not apply them literally, but apply them to a 21st century lens. The problem lies in the interpretation of God's unchanging Law.

From the son of Southern slaveholders from at least 5 different families, who thinks it was morally wrong then and morally wrong now. I do not fault my ancestors for being on the wrong end of a morally wrong argument. I'm extraordiarly proud of my Southern Heritage. John
