Not to get into biblical morality, but when Joshua went into the Promise land he took slaves when he should have killed everyone. Now the taking of slaves was not in itself the sin, disobedience was.

It's hard to say if morals carry over from one to the other or if they vary in acceptance of looser morals as the generations progress.

I personaly do not believe slavery was immoral at the time it was practiced.
