I have a letter written by Lt. Thomas J. Rankin, 7th Miss. In this letter he says "I had rather die than be subjected to Lincolism." Die he did, of disease, and if my memory still serves me, he never had the chance to fire a shot. I always wondered what he meant by "Lincolism" after reading Mr. King's list ofcauses, I have a better idea.
