You may be right, Jim. Only more time will tell.

Take a look at the post I just put up in response to Kevin; you will see that my sense of where we are headed is that if all we can do is provide "little cards" in a conventional museum setting; a setting that looks backward and never forward, Southerners will continue to lose ground in protecting and preserving the very history that produced those "little cards."

Carried to its logical end, whenever that may be, the traditional approach you recommend we stick to represents to me the abandonment of the history, the culture, the events of the times and, ultimately, the memory of my great grands and great great grands, etc.

They were the ones who were speaking to me when I put up my response to Kevin and this response to you, but I thank you for sharing your viewpoint for it creates a useful contrast with what I propose.

Perhaps that contrast will encourage others to jump in and let us know what they think about all this.
