Boz, are you saying that we should use our past and our culture to explain and relate to the way the world is now, without dwelling nostalgically on that past? If so, I agree with you. We can be proud of and celebrate our heritage without trying to relive it, or be bound by ideals and beliefs that no longer are viable. The mindset of all sections of the country is vastly different than in the past. We must cope with life as it is now, without forgetting everything that happened, good or bad.
BTW, has there been any consideration of what might have happened if the Confederate Capitol had remained in Montgomery? For one thing, Northern supply lines would have been far longer. Stan
