Linda as with most of the records of Prices 1864 Misouri Campaign, Carr's record leaves much to be explained. By December 2nd, 1864 Price was already back in Arkansas. Most of the actions of that Campaign took place in October 1864. So the part of the entry that says he was wounded and captured in December 1864 does not seem to fit the record of his being wounded during that Campaign.

If I had to guess, and that is what we have to do here because of the lack of most records in Arkansas after Feb. 1864, and the fact that we are talking about Slemon's Cavalry here, I would say that he was wounded in some patrol action later in December and picked up by the yankee's at that time. By December both side would be settling down into their winter quarters. If that is the case he would have probably been taken to the hospital and prisons at Little Rock.
