I agree with you and I work on all captured Union flags from all battles, no matter how big or small. Over two years ago on this subject/thread, I have found more Union flags captured. Gregg and I believe it was the "16th Iowa" not the "16th Ohio". I searched the Official Records and the 16th Ohio was not even at the battle, lol.

I had a family member in the 16th Iowa, Private Levi Prouty, company "I". I would have to do more research on him, if he was at the battle.

I had family members in these Ohio regiments: 25th, 42nd, 93rd, 96th, 105th, 122nd, 123rd, 9th Cavalry and 14th Light Artillery. All were privates.

I am glad this subject is corrected.
