The Richmond Depot flag at Brunk Auctions that probably started this thread just sold for 70k plus buyers premium. Totally machine stitched even the stars, great condition. Came out of a Petersburg family. It appeared to be a late bunting issue and was cataloged with a 5 to 10k estimate. Obviously the flag was real judging by the bidding. Congratulations to the successful bidder. The stars were also overcast with wool embroidery (thats odd) and machine sewn with linen thread. The hoist edge eyelets were pristine so one might assume this flag was never issued. If somebody more computer savvy can post the pictures im sure the rest of the board would appreciate it.
