The borders are being called wool flannel despite the weave does not match known samples of period wool flannel, nor does the weave match that of the cotton flannel of the known Staunton 2nd Nationals.

On the xerox data sheets & drawings Howard sent me of four Staunton pattern battle flags, he describes the borders as white flannel, and also states that in his essay on the Staunton battle flags, he does not say white wool flannel.

We have also gone from a canvas header on the Staunton battle flags, per Howard Madaus, to wool flannel header, per you and a flag dealer.

For 70K there must be more cogent evidence out there that this is a Staunton battle flag then what is known here.
